I did the Big Mac index again the other day. Note that Micky Dees sells beer here as well. The index is about $1.62. Worse than Paris! I've been cooking some of my own meals and eating at peoples houses. The food is wonderful here. It is nice to have friends in a town like Napoli. Unfortunately Italian women want to feed you too much! I lost a little weight in Paris but have more than made up for it here.

I thought I would add that measuring the Big Mac index in Napoli was not easy. Although rumor says there were at one time 8 Micky Dees in Napoli, we had a hard time finding even one. And that one was small and had few customers.

1 and 2: main train station and the piazza near it.
3: city hall piazza.
4: on the naples bypass freeway.
5: outside the main soccer stadium.
It is my contention that the big mac index in Napoli was bad because of the very limited traffic that the joint gets. Their fixed costs have to be spread among fewer paying customers. After all, you're in Napoli, land of pasta, pizza, and fried food from heaven, why on earth would you want to eat at a Micky Dees!
